She had heard about the Pendeza Uganda savings scheme, but due to experiences she had heard about other savings schemes, she did not believe this was something for her.
After countless months of encouragement, she started saving a small portion of her allowance (by then, she was not a support-staff member but rather a volunteer).
After a short period of time, she used her savings to venture into Agriculture. She would regularly grow food crops, then sell the harvest to get money which she would use to pay school fees.
Pendeza Uganda has been there for her. In fact, she has a good report to share. At the time of the writing of this story, her daughter had just completed a Nursing course, and Pendeza Uganda was a great part of this success story.
In case you are wondering, school fees wasn’t all that she used her money for, she also managed to give her house a face-lift and now lives a better life than years before joining Pendeza Uganda .
We are also glad to report that Aunt Solome, as she is commonly known, is our community mobilizer. She has seen it all; been the unbeliever, joined Pendeza Uganda skeptically, grown her own savings, and seen it work in her own life. Now, when she shares with others about Pendeza Uganda , her eyes beam with excitement because she knows it has worked for her and the over 450 current members of this community.
At Pendeza Uganda , we believe that empowering one family is a great effort to empowering the nation because families are the building blocks of Uganda. To achieve this, we focus on three main things which include; a savings and credit scheme, the sustainable family development and child sponsorship to meet the immediate need of families as they work together with Pendeza Uganda to break the cycle of poverty.Feel free to get in touch with us for details on ways to be a part of this.
